RESTORE TO ME THE JOY OF YOUR SALVATION

A sermon preached by Fortune Nwaiwu

Psa 51:12 NHEB Restore to me the joy of your salvation. Uphold me with a willing spirit.

Introduction

There is no man on earth that has not in one way or the other experienced the joy of the LORD in his life. Though some people right from their childhood experience pain, and sorrow- their lives know no joy or happiness, while some people's lives progress from happiness to sorrow due to some circumstances, or crimes committed. To crown it all, sins drag away man's joy of salvation.

David's crime of adultery with Bathsheba almost devastated his life. The story of this event really shows how human beings reason in some cases, a train of thoughts that are connected to produce that which is inimical, and diabolical to humanity. The story is told and we learn that:
  • David casted his lustful eyes on Bathsheba, which led to committing of adultery, and his subsequent murder of Uriah, the husband of Bathsheba.
For David to invite Uriah to return from the battle ground to sleep with his wife having realised that Bathsheba was pregnant, his ulterior motive was to cover his evil deed, and Uriah would accept he was responsible for the pregnancy. Now you will know that some children in some families are not legitimate, they are born by different fathers due to the unfaithfulness of wives to their husbands. This behaviour can cause the joy of the Lord to be far from them. This is what happened to David. His heart was tormenting him. He was embittered because the joy of his salvation is away from him. He then pleaded that God should restore to him the joy of His salvation.

What to do for God to restore to you the joy of His salvation

1. You must have repented
Turn away from your son's, and do them no more.

2. Look up to God:
Do you feel like there is no joy in your life, and God is far from you because of what you did? Are you experiencing one problem or another that always put your mind in a state of jeopardy? The solution to it is for you to look up to God. Jesus Christ says:
Joh 16:22 NHEB Therefore you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.
The joy Christ promised is the joy of salvation to those who look up to him.
Also the children of God who were bitten by a poisonous snake in the wilderness, as they were willing to look up to the replica of the snake God commanded Moses to make, their joy was restored because they were healed.
Num 21:9 NHEB Moses made a serpent of bronze, and set it on the standard: and it happened, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he looked to the serpent of bronze, he lived.
Joh 3:14-15 NHEB And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, whoever believes in him may have everlasting life.
The Son of Man must be lifted up in our life so that our joy will be everlasting. Look up to him for the salvation of your soul. God bless you.

Overcoming the spirit of Delay by Fortune Nwaiwu

Overcoming the spirit of Delay A sermon preached by Fortune Nwaiwu on Wed. 20/03/2019 There are forces that are responsible for delaying peoples' blessings, keeping them from progressing, such forces are also responsible delaying some people from receiving Christ as their personal Saviour. With the help of God, those forces hindering your success will stop.  1. The Ethiopian Eunuch overcame the spirit of delay by receiving God's salvation – Acts 8:36  As they went on the way, they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “Behold, here is water. What is keeping me from being baptised?”   He had accepted to follow Christ but was not yet a born again because he was yet to be baptised. His baptism delayed a little, and he wondered what would stop him from being baptised since there was a river to do so. So being a serious minded person to embrace Christ as his Saviour, he was then baptised by Philip. Never you allow the power of darkness to stop you from receiving God's ...

WHERE IS YOUR HOPE?

WHERE IS YOUR HOPE? A sermon preached on the Easter Sunday, 21 st April, 2019 by Rev. Fortune Nwaiwu Can the dead live again? If so, this would give me hope through all my years of struggle, and I would eagerly await the release of death”− Job 14:14 NLT. I preach from the angle of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ who was crucified. We see that there were many people in those days that had committed crimes and were supposed to die based on the Law of Moses (i.e. the man that committed adultery with the woman that was brought to Jesus that he saved) but no one sentenced them to death. But why is it that our Lord Jesus Christ, an innocent soul was crucified? He came to show us the way, to save us from the power of sin. In order to fulfill the scriptures, he was destined to die for us all, but his people did not know him. Out of hatred, he was killed− he was oppressed and treated harshly, and yet he did not say a word. He remained silent before his foes. But what...

BUY THE TRUTH AND SELL IT NOT

SERMON 24 BUY THE TRUTH AND SELL IT NOT         Buy the truth and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction and understanding"-----Proverb 23:23 KJV. The word of God is the truth that all men should seek after. Everything written in the scripture is true and the truth is centered on Jesus Christ because he is the God of the truth. This peculiar fact is obviously seen in the gospel book of John 14:6, Jesus told Thomas, "I am the way, the truth and the life" Truth means sincerity as opposed to falsehood. In our society, truth is always bitter in the ears of unbelievers. This contributed to the reason why some people oppose the teachings of our Lord Jesus. Christ is the only way who came to draw all men to God. Through him, there is salvation and forgiveness of sin. He is the truth because he always tells us what we ought to do. His word is full of wisdom and having spiritual insights to understand the mind of our Creator. Buy the truth: This theologic...
